Job Description

A leading TV production company is looking for a highly experienced & competent production accountant to manage the accounts of a programme due for broadcast UK & other countries. With its main base in London this role will work with the Senior Producers and assist the team of this high profile entertainment programme.

This will be a busy role and requires an individual with extensive experience of TV Production accounting, ideally factual and of working closely with the production teams. Experience of using PMI would be a distinct advantage.

The Role:

  • Work with the Production Manager & Execs to forecast estimated final costs, explaining any variance to budget;
  • Prepare cashflow forecasts & cost reports for commissioner reporting;
  • Report production expenditure against the cost manager, highlighting risks and opportunities;
  • Provide weekly/monthly reports to central finance for corporate reporting purposes;
  • Manage the credit card, petty cash and pre-paid cards and reconcile monthly;
  • Liaise with finance and payroll to ensure PAYE staff are paid on a timely basis;
  • Manage the bi-monthly Loan and Schedule D payment runs;
  • Prepare quarter end production accruals and WIP adjustment;
  • Manage an assistant production accountant;
  • Reconcile the production balance sheet accounts;
  • Agree final costs to complete and support the close-down process;

To be suitable for this position you must be able to demonstrate an extensive background as a production accountant and have a number of credits to your name. You will be happy to work under pressure and have a calm and collected manner with others.

You will be able to demonstrate strong communication skills and be happy to be hands on.

This role will be for 9 months and is looking for someone to start immediately.

If you have experience in using PMI that would be highly beneficial and if you have previously worked on Factual or Entertainment programmes it would be an advantage.
