Rapidly growing digital content agency requires an experienced Financial Controller to join their fast growing team.

With interests in the UK & US the company works with some of the worlds most recognised TV, Sports & Consumer brands to create content across a number of social media channels, delivering to billions of people on a monthly basis.

The Financial Controller is a pivotal role within a business, primarily responsible for providing consolidated financial information to internal management, shareholders and the parent company. You will manage an ever growing team who look after the finances for both the UK/European & US companies!

The position requires a highly experienced individual who has a few years PQE and can demonstrate working exposure within a fast growth and dynamic company, ideally within the Media, Marketing Services or Tech industries!!

The role:

  • Prepare monthly group management accounts for internal management use and for submission to the parent company
  • Prepare statutory financial statements under IFRS 101, liaise with auditors and manage the annual audit process
  • Liaise with the FP&A team regarding cashflow
  • Monitor and review the US group including liaising with the local accountant, owning & reviewing the month end procedures
  • Line manage & develop a team of 6/7 people (qualified & transactional)
  • Review & maintain the company accounting and reporting systems and any other derived financial & data systems
  • Work with the group tax ream to ensure taxation across all companies/subsidiaries are compliant to local regulations
  • Continually adapt and improve the month end procedures
  • Review & reengineer internal controls
  • Review & approve monthly payroll, including liaising with the Payroll bureau
  • Responsible for ensuring all technical accounting policies are implemented, adhered to and continually updated
  • Review inter-company transactions, balances and reconciliations

The person:

  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA or equivalent) with at least 5 years PQE
  • Experience gained within industry, ideally within TV/Media/Digital would be a distinct advantage or Creative or Tech sector;
  • Excellent technical accounting experience with a strong knowledge of IFRS
  • Proven experience of leading and developing a growing team;
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills, able to meet multiple deadlines
  • Highly systems literate, with advanced Excel skills
  • Great team player who is flexible & adaptable in their approach;
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact and build strong working relationships with people of all levels
  • Hands on, highly motivated, proactive and a self starter
  • Able to set an example to the wider team whilst also nurturing others.
